Much of our Tanakh teaching is focused on the narrative portions, and for good reason. Everyone loves stories. Almost half of the Torah, however, is made up of laws. How do we teach those sections without turning the class into a Halakha class? How do we make those often dry sections meaningful for students? The Torah also included poetry, and these sections present an entirely new set of challenges. How do we overcome the challenges of sophisticated vocabulary, imagery, and themes to make learning accessible and relevant for our students?
