Presented By:

Zvi Grumet, The Lookstein Center’s Director of Education

In this series, we will look at the big picture in Sefer Shmuel as the attempt to transition from the model of the shofetim to that of kings. We will explore four attempts to shift out of the shofet model, why the first three were unsuccessful, and why the final one shows promise of success. The framing is helpful to shift the learning from a pasuk by pasuk orientation or even a perek by perek orientation to one in which the students understand the individual events in the context of what the sefer is trying to convey.
