Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, NJ seeks a full-time Middle School Judaic Studies teacher for 2025-2026 as we expand our program. Position potentially could begin in part-time form this current school year.
Responsibilities:
Teach Judaic Studies classes
Elicit excellence in every student through individualized and differentiated instruction;
Partner with administration and parents;
Value and assess writing and critical thinking, offering prompt and meaningful feedback on assessments;
Demonstrate warmth, collegiality, humor, and industry in interactions with students and colleagues;
Flexibility to accommodate teaching schedule from 8:00 to 3:00 PM; part-time options are also available.
The ideal candidate is:
Eager to create and teach granular, skill-level work as well assignments that create higher-level thinking and engender enthusiasm for academic engagement
Passionate and knowledgeable about differentiation and project-based learning;
Excited to participate in educational programming;
Enthusiastic about working collaboratively with a team of peers;
Eager to create curricula that fosters higher order thinking skills;
An excellent communicator with superior interpersonal skills, in person and in writing;
Willing to work with students with a wide range of learning styles
