The Jewish Educational Center (JEC) Lower School is a warm and inclusive yeshiva day school in Elizabeth, NJ, committed to fostering a love of learning, community, and Jewish values in our students. Our Early Childhood division offers a nurturing, play-based environment where children ages 2 ½ to 5 can grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Director to lead our program, working together with a dedicated team of faculty and administrators to ensure that the program aligns with JEC’s mission and inspires and supports both teachers and our young learners to reach their full potential.

Our nurturing program is designed to promote children’s social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development.

The ideal candidate:
Possesses a deep commitment to Torah education and values with a demonstrated ability to integrate Jewish traditions and culture into the classroom.
Has a positive attitude and energetic personality
Shows warmth, caring, and creativity in the classroom and out
Stays informed on the latest best practices in child development and early childhood education
Is a team player, a great communicator, and ready to make a difference
Has strong verbal and written communication skills
Prior classroom experience a plus

Preferred qualifications include previous leadership experience, a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and comprehensive and wide-ranging knowledge of child development and early childhood curriculum, especially kriyah and early literacy.
