Abraham Joshua Heschel School is looking for a full-time Lower School Psychologist for the 2025-2026 school year to work within our Lower School division.
The Lower School psychologist will work with students in grades 2-5 and will have important roles delivering direct clinical services to students, supporting teachers, and collaborating with parents. Expertise in the social, emotional, and cognitive development of elementary age children is critical. Applicants should have experience teaching social emotional curricula, using diverse approaches for developing early executive skills among children, and implementing social problem solving. Familiarity with individualized approaches to teaching and learning and the ability to interpret neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations is important.
The Lower School psychologist works closely with other members of the Lower School team focusing on creating division-wide goals, and leading meetings with faculty on childrenโs social, emotional and cognitive development. The psychologist also collaborates with mental health professionals in the other divisions; and is the liaison to clinicians in the community.
Qualifications:
โ NYS licensed Psychologist
โ Strong experience with behavioral interventions with children and families
โ Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
โ Experience working in a collaborative, dynamic, stimulating school environment

The full-time equivalent salary range is $65,000 – $95,000, depending on years of experience.
