What is video conferencing? Video conferencing uses video and audio systems to bring groups from different geographic locations together for a meeting or class. Video conferencing technology allows participants to communicate verbally, electronically and visually. Participants can share documents, computer-displayed information and whiteboards.

How do they work? Participants gather in one studio, while the presenter lectures from another studio. Cameras simultaneously swap live pictures between TV screens in each location. Cameras can be set to show the whole room, zoom in on one person or focus on a whiteboard.


What are The Lookstein Center video conferences? The Lookstein Center video conferences can take the form of individual sessions, full-term courses, or special programs for students or professional development workshops for educators. The Center's video conferencing programs allows for both students and educators to benefit from the expertise of scholars who live in Israel.
Video conferencing sessions are designed in collaboration with schools.

What do you need to participate? Participating schools or institutions will need access to a video conferencing studio. The number of participants is only limited by the size of the studio. Past Lookstein Center conferences have had between 1 and 400 participants.
