Looking for Talmudic riddles

May 16, 2012 12:30AM
I am preparing a class for Shavuot which will highlight what I'll call "lomdish" riddles. I am looking for odd cases that can be explained using a halakhic, midrashic, or Talmudic source that I could learn with the crowd to show them the answer.
(I am not looking for word plays).

Here is an example: how can a woman receive a get from the man she married and still be permitted to a kohen?
(the answer can be found in a case described by the Yalkut Shimoni at the beginning of Parshat Emor)

On and offline responses would be most appreciated.
