On Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at 4:51 AM -0400 Abe Katz referred to the Peirush Safrai to Maseches Taanis. Professor Zev Safrai in collaboration with his late father, Shmuel Safrai, has begun publishing a commentary on the Mishnayos.
I haven't had a chance to see the published version of the Peirush Safrai, but I was given pre-publication copies and they were amazing. I would, however, want to correct Abe Katz's attribution. The project was not really a father-son effort but a brother-sister project in honor of their father, mostly done following the death of Shmuel Safrai in 2003. I had the privilege of studying with Chana Safrai, z.tz.l., a talmidat chakhamim, a firebrand, an inspired teacher, and, as is evidenced by the Peirush Safrai, an outstanding academic and felicitous writer.
